CONVEY: is the exclusive provider of production services for this upcoming, feature-length documentary about a pair of weird & wonderful establishments that were once beloved fixtures of both Portland, Oregon and Denver, Colorado, called the “Organ Grinder”.
In their heyday, these were the largest pizza restaurants in the world, featuring gigantic Wurlitzer pipe organs as the main entertainment. Lines of patrons, eager to get in, would stretch around the block. With each location serving over 1,000 pies a day, the company was making millions, with plans to expand nationwide. Celebrities would visit, just for the experience. Yet, by the mid 1990s, they had closed and faded into obscurity.
This film explores the amazing and colorful back-story of the restaurant’s creation, rise, and fall. Over fifty people have been interviewed, and hours of archival footage have been restored.
